Korea, Money and Gumi!

(We visited Gumi again!! It has been forever since we've gone to gumi!!)

We went shopping in Gumi!! At the HomePlus there!! We love shopping there, everyone is VERY friendly to us! Not only that it is fairly cheap. Up above are photos of their "Alcohol" section haha.  Which brings up Korean drinks. One of the most popular "Alcohol drinks in Korea" is Souju. The photo of it is right above. It is a clear liquid that is...almost tasteless! It is used to mix with things.

The HomePlus is very similar to a Wallmart in America. However, it obviously, has more Asian foods/items and such. It has the most AMAZING snacks!! Very yummy and quiet addicting if I say so myself. We enjoy shopping there alot!! (As you can see below, more then just a "few" snacks!!)

Then after we were done shopping there was a restaurant inside the Home Plus called "Ashley" (Well it had letters before it in Korean but the American words were "Ashley". So we went in to get some food and it was a buffet!! It was sooooo yummy!!

Tanya was in LOVE with the place!! And I loved the food so it was a great turn out! Not only that the people were super nice to us (Even though most of them didn't speak english obviously!)

Last but not least Tanya had her first taste of Chocolate!! In a sucker!! She went crazy but when she had about 1/4 of it finished we had to take it away because she was being waaaay too hyper. Lesson learned. Other then that, that day went great. Then the day before that we went to Daegu.

Tanya loves trips to anywhere because she's really liking the car now. Also she likes to look out and see how everything is moving past her!! After we were done with errands in Daegu we went back to Waegwan...and here are some photos I took exploring!!

And last but not least...I realized I never showed people what Wan/won looks like. The Korean currency. So here it is ladies and gentlemen!

(In short...that's about $800 dollars...which is almost a million won. We withdrew it to pay bills and such)

Colored Contacts, Journals, and almost a 1 year old!

(So, I've discovered that colored contacts are a pretty big thing in Korea!)

It seems every time I turn on the TV commercials for colored contacts come on 24/7. So what did I do? I wanted to see what the craze was all about, naturally. So how did I do that? I bought some of course haha.
It seems alot of Koreans are not happy with their dark brown or black colored eyes and prefer more 'fun' colors. So since my eyes change from gray, blue and to green sometimes I figured if I got any of those colors there would be no fun in that. What color did I get? PURPLE!! That's right, nice and wild...purple haha. So I went into the eye store, the guy checked my eyes out...did all the fun stuff and gave me these things...

(By now you shouldn't be too shocked that they even give you a CUTE case for your contacts.)

So obviously the next thing is to put them in. Having NO experience with contacts before you can obviously expect how interesting the experience was. Least to say, after 30 minutes of what look like 'bawling my eyes out' I got them in...and wondered 'WHY ON EARTH WOULD PEOPLE DO THIS IF THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO?!' Not only that, I took step by step photos for you. Now be nice with comments!

(Here is both of them in! Like I said, by now I looked like I was bawling)

(And here we have it AFTER the bawling is over.)

(Justin thinks I look creepy but I figure he's just jealous of my awesome purple eyes haha...although I will admit the next photo is a bit creepy looking!)

(All of these photos were taken with alot of flash and lighting so they don't look that purple in real life...here is a photo of how they "usually" look.)

(I know, I know, very lovely expression Haha!!)

Anyway, now that you have seen me with purple contacts, I still sadly can not explain to you why there is such a craze for colored contacts over here. However, I am considering maybe getting brown ones just to see if I can pull off brown eyes! Colored contacts here cost about $30-$40 for 12 month contacts. (Contacts that last a year...they have others that only last a month that are obviously much cheaper!)

Anyway, If I pick up more contacts I will post on here! Now my next topic will be journals. I have been keeping a journal for my daughter before she was born. So I ordered a custom made journal with my daughters photo of it on it. I've been pretty darn good about filling it out. I fill out entries at least twice a month but since I need to print out more photos of my daughter I need to do that before I can update my entries.

(Sadly, whenever I update these entries it seems to be past midnight so my writing is usually pretty sloppy. )

(I have to keep telling myself to update these...however the journal is already half full and it's only 6 months through. So, I am thinking that for each year she will most likely need a new journal haha)

On a very last note...Tanya turned 10 months old a day ago!! How exciting is that?!! I also think she will be walking soon which is even cooler!! I have to start planning her first birthday!! We already have the location figured out and most things. When she turns one you can expect probably a TRILLION photos of the birthday girl! However for now I have to go and eat dinner!! Hope everyone has a good day!!
