(My family & I have been stationed in Waegwan, South Korea since September 2010. So for the past 4 months we've lived there.)
So, I figured some people would be interesting with life in Korea! I will be updating on the scenery in Korea, the food, the people, ect.First off, We live in Waegwan near Camp Carroll. Camp Carroll is more of a place for single soldiers instead of families. Here is why, all the medical facilities for family members are at the next camp...at Camp Walker (In Daegu). All the other stuff for families are there as well, as well as Camp Henry.
All around both the camps are bars, clubs and more bars & clubs. For if you're here for the night life, you will have no problem. If you're here for the shopping they have that too! Not just that the scenery is gorgeous. Just a warning though, Koreans LOVE babies. I don't know how many times tons of Koreans swarm dived for our daughter and gathered around her and just stared! Thus why we usually put her in a stroller where you can't see her very well!! It just solves the issue of being stopped by every Korean just to see our daughter when we are trying to run erransds.
Not only that but a modeling agency from Seoul has called for Tanya! Another thing about Korea is if you have blonde hair and blue eyes then expect to be gawked at, talked to, stared at, followed, and everything else. Sadly not only do I have blonde hair and blue eyes so does Tanya...which makes Koreans fascinated with her even more. I am so used to all the koreans stopping me and talking to me, however my husband does not find it nearly as amusing.
(For this entry, I am just going to show you some of the sights of Korea. Enjoy!)
Korea in the Summer.
(Korea is full of many plants/vegetables/farming ect.)
(Here are some photo's I took outside of our apartment or near it! (In Ear;y September 2010!)
Korea in the Fall
(The very green Korea suddenly looks completely different!)
(Taken in Nov-Oct and early December 2010.)
Korea in the Winter
(For anyone that does not snow, it rarely snows here in Korea. Meaning there is not much snow ever on the ground, as you can imagine someone whose lived in Michigan for the past 12 years this is kind of annoying and odd/rare)
(These photos were taken in Late Dec-Jan 2010)
(All of these photos were taken by I, I am just now getting into photography so forgive me for the quality haha)
That a nice place of Korea. How your life so far there?
ReplyDeleteIs it easy to walk around if we don't understand korean language?
